Should fans be okay with the Mavericks trading Jason Kidd to the Knicks?

Multiple rumors have linked the Knicks' head coaching vacancy to Jason Kidd, currently employed by our Dallas Mavericks. If Kidd has actual interest in leaving Dallas for New York, what would it take for the Mavs to give him up? Should they try to make a deal happen if there is mutual interest?
