The Rangers may not be giving you much to be excited about these days, but two of the club's top pitching prospects certainly are.
Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter have been absolutely dominant of late while pitching for Double-A Frisco (Rocker) and Triple-A Round Rock (Leiter), giving fans renewed hope for the future.
In 19.2 innings pitched with Frisco (5 starts), Rocker has a 0.46 ERA with 29 strikeouts and 0 walks.
Meanwhile, Leiter has allowed just 12 earned runs over his last nine starts for Round Rock. In his most recent start on Wednesday, the 24 year old allowed one run on four hits with nine Ks and one walk in 5 2/3 innings.
We're already expecting Leiter to be re-called to the big-league club at some point before the end of the season, but should Rocker also be an option?
The K&C Masterpiece discussed that on Thursday's show.
