Texans safety A.J. Moore placed on injured reserve with hamstring issue

Texans backup safety A.J. Moore is on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

The team announced Moore's placement on the injured list Thursday afternoon. They also announced re-signing linebacker Joe Thomas, who was cut when the Texans narrowed down their 53-man roster.

Moore provides depth for the Texans' secondary and plays on special teams.

The Texans' are banged up safety position with Moore's injury, and Lonnie Johnson Jr. dealing with a quad injury.

Johnson is expected back sooner than Moore. The Texans also have Terrence Brooks on the active roster, and Jonathan Owens signed to the practice squad.
