Was Kyrie Irving rattled or just off in Game 1?
The "Kyrie sucks!" chants and boos reigned down on the Mavericks' point guard as soon as he stepped onto the TD Garden floor.
Irving responded by having one of the worst playoff performances of his storied career, shooting 6-for-19 from the field and missing all five of his three-pointers in the Celtics' 107-89 blowout win over Dallas in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night in Boston.
Irving spoke about his struggles after the game but said Boston's crowd didn't affect his underwhelming performance.
“I thought it was going to be a little louder in here, but I’m expecting the same things going into Game 2,” he said. “The energy has to be focused towards the game. I felt like I had a lot of great looks. They hit back rim or were just a little left or right. Just got to stay confident and stay poised throughout this, man.”
