While the space race was decades ago, Xbox users will get the chance to do it themselves with a newly released game for free from NASA.
The single-player management game, "To the Moon and Beyond" is available on the Microsoft Store for the Xbox Series X and S and the Xbox One.
The game is described as a single-player, card-based game that allows the player to build up their own space program with the goal of sending humans to the moon safely.
On top of that, players have the objective of creating a permanent habitat on the moon for humans to colonize. Altogether, there are eight programs in the game for players to beat as they learn about the space industry.
Depending on how well you complete the programs, you could receive more funding to make accomplishing your goals easier.
“Results from the projects you fund determine your budget for the next year and get you closer to building your very own custom Rocket, Space Suit, Lunar Space Station, Moon Habitat, and more,” the description says.
This isn’t the first time the game has launched, as it was initially released for iOS and Android users in 2020, but NASA had shared its intentions to bring it to consoles.
The game is described as educational, and for the low cost of zero dollars, it can’t hurt to give it a try.
