Take, in this instance, Zack Rosenblatt, who covers the Giants for NJ.com and captured this exchange between a disgruntled fan and Giants owner John Mara prior to Sunday’s season-ending loss to Washington:

Yes, that fan in the Giants jacket yelled what many fans would likely have loved to: “we deserve better” and “we need football people, not family!”

Big Blue’s loss ended their season at 4-13, officially finishing a fifth straight losing season in which the Giants have authored an overall record of 22-59, no better than a tie for the worst in football over that span depending on the result of the Jets’ finale with the Bills (Gang Green was 22-58 entering Sunday).

Despite reports that the team is going to bring head coach Joe Judge and quarterback Daniel Jones for 2022, there is still the all-but-confirmed retirement of GM Dave Gettleman coming as soon as Monday, and other changes could be made depending on where the Giants go for their general manager position.

Judge wouldn’t discuss any hypotheticals or timelines in his postgame press conference, only saying that he would sit down with Mara “sometime this week” to discuss the state of the franchise.
