Recently, Luke Bryan hosted a house party to preview his latest album, Signs, and Katie Neal left with a unique parting gift to add to the studio... a leucistic otter.
LISTEN NOW: Superstar Power Hour with Luke Bryan
“Well, it's a white otter,” explains Luke during this week’s Superstar Power Hour. “If you're trying to have a bass farm to where you want beautiful, healthy, large mouth bass. Who was Superman's nemesis? Lex Luthor. Large mouth bass, their Lex Luthor is otters, and they're not welcome. They are not our friends, and this one just happened to come down the wrong little trail.”
The comment section was quick to point out that the white otter was not albino, but a leucistic otter, which is just the latest online criticism that Bryan has endured. The Country star got a lot of feedback for snippets of songs from his new album, but the end result is 100 percent Luke.
“To promote a new album you gotta put snippets of songs out there and then when you do all that you're offering yourself up for a lot of comments on the snippets of songs and then people are loving or hating snippets of a song,” he shares. “But either way, I'm proud of it.”
“I think people just wanna hear me being me, and I think I get the best responses out of my career when I'm really being me and I think there's a lot of me on this album, and yeah, that's the best way I can put it.”
Bryan goes on to break down specific tracks, including the lighthearted "Fish Hunt Golf Drink," the energetic summer single "Country And She Knows It," and his exciting collaboration with Luke Combs on "Finders Keepers."
"I did the whole, ‘sorry to bother you, no pressure. I'm uncomfortable doing this, but you just got to hear it and if you want to do it, I'd love to have you,’” he says about reaching out to Combs. “He goes, ‘I'm in’ and I'm like, ‘oh crap.’"
