(SportsRadio 610) - Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil is still rehabilitating after undergoing surgery to repair a broken thumb last month.
Tunsil was injured Oct. 10 when the Texans hosted the New England Patriots. He then underwent surgery and was expected out for about four weeks. Tunsil is still getting his strength back, now able to lift weights. He is deciding whether to wear a splint on the injured thumb, head coach David Culley said Wednesday.
But expect the offensive line to look about the same as it has the past few weeks with Geron Christian Sr. at left tackle in place of Tunsil.
"Right now, the big thing he's doing is just getting his strength back," Culley said. "Because of the injury, he hasn't been able to lift weights. ... He's actually getting to that point where he's starting to lift a little bit now, getting his strength back. Once he gets that back, it's just a matter of him being able and ready to go."
In 2020, Tunsil negotiated his own three-year, $66 million contract extension, guaranteeing $50 million.
