(SportsRadio 610) - Dameon Pierce does not know a ton about Houston, but he's got some of the essentials down.
For one, the Texans drafted him Saturday in the fourth round (107 overall) of this year's NFL Draft, making him the newest running back on the team.
That's not it, though.
"They got pretty houses and pretty girls, so I'm ready to go," Pierce said after being selected by Houston.
Pierce is high-energy, powerful and loves to deliver hits. He was a starter at Florida in 2020, when he led the Gators in rushing with 503 yards and four rushing touchdowns on 106 carries.
Pierce started just once last season, but still led Florida with 13 rushing touchdowns. He joins a Texans squad that's produced the least efficient run game for the past two seasons.
Here are NFL Network's Mike Yam and Steve Wyche explaining how Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce will help Texans offense
"It's just a blessing, I'm stoked," Pierce said of being picked by the Texans. "I'm just ready to play some football and put the pads on."
