(SportsRadio 610) - The Texans added a fresh face to the tight end room after drafting Teagan Quitoriano in the fifth round of this year's NFL Draft.
Quitoriano played four years at Oregon State, where he was an All-Pac-12 honorable mention as a senior last season. He caught 19 passes for 214 yards, but is also known as a tremendous blocker.
Speaking with reporters after being selected, Quitoriano described himself as a well-rounded tight end who takes blocking seriously.
Over his career at Oregon State, Quitoriano started in 30 of the 42 games he played in. He totaled 40 receptions for 512 yards and six touchdowns.
In his conversations with the Texans, Quitoriano said the team liked his aggressiveness in the run game and that they have ideas on how to use him.
"I just can't wait to help the franchise win games," Quitoriano said. "I'm one of the most well-rounded tight ends in this draft, so I'm glad Houston took a chance on me. That's all I wanted, was to get my foot in the door and now I'm just going to try to kick it down."
