The program—featuring John Auville, Eric Bickel, Jason Bishop and John-Paul Flaim—has been highly rated in Washington, D.C. since 1996.
Entercom Washington, D.C. Senior VP/Market Manager Phil Zachary commended the vision of the two charter affiliates.
"Bennett Zier and Bob Sinclair are true radio broadcasters who strongly believe that what comes out the speakers ultimately defines success," he said. "They've both been eager to put The Junkies on their respective sports stations, and we're happy to finally oblige."
In Norfolk, the show will air on Sinclair's Sports Radio 96.5FM and 850AM, WTAR, while Entercom's Fox Sports 910 WRNL will air the show in Richmond.
Bob Sinclair, owner of the Norfolk stations, said, "We are thrilled to bring the Sports Junkies to Hampton Roads and add them to our already stellar lineup. The show has been one of the best sports programs in the country for over 20 years and provides amazing coverage of the Redskins, Capitals, Nationals, Wizards, and more. And with so many of our listeners being fans of those teams, they will fit in perfectly here in the 757."
The program's live premiere in Norfolk is Monday, January 28th, and in Richmond Monday, Feb. 4th.
