Adrian Peterson revitalized his NFL career in Washington.
After racking up 1,250 combined yards and eight touchdowns in 2018, the soon-to-be 34-year-old running back is coming back to the Redskins on a two-year, $8 million deal, Craig Hoffman confirms.
Can confirm that Adrian Peterson is indeed coming back to Washington. #Redskins coveted him all along. They want his veteran leadership to mentor Guice. He’s also still really good. Was on pace for a huge year before the O-Line fell apart.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) March 13, 2019Peterson should serve a major role in the tutelage young back Derrius Guice, last year's second-round pick, who missed his entire rookie season after tearing his ACL in his preseason debut.
Yes. We talked about that exact thing before week 17 last year: https://t.co/U4NB5zR0TH https://t.co/qe1XEcXe0R
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) March 13, 2019The second year of Peterson's deal is an option, Hoffman reports.
Updating the reporting that is out there on the contract for Peterson:It’s a 2 year, $8m deal but the second year is an option. Will be curious to see exactly how it’s structured but expect something that’s very easy to move on from after 1 year if the #Redskins want.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) March 13, 2019The Redskins have all but confirmed the deal.
