The Redskins had a rough Monday night against the Saints, and Alex Smith was no exception. The veteran quarterback completed 23 of 39 passes for 275 yards, and was intercepted once, good for a sub-par 69.9 passer rating.
And four games into the Smith era in Washington, The Junkies are not impressed.
"You couldn't draw up a worse start for Alex Smith through four games," Eric Bickel said. "It's been pretty mediocre. Pretty, pretty bad."
"And if he finds someone willing to take one of them, if it's a good deal for him — he's done it twice now to the Redskins."
As it stands, Reid unquestionably got the better end of the deal, Patrick Mahomes tops in the NFL with 14 touchdown passes while leading the Chiefs to a 5-0 start.
And with Kirk Cousins also playing well up in Minnesota, did the Redskins in fact downgrade at quarterback?
"I saw Kirk Cousins play for four years, I know what he can do. And now I've watched Alex closely for four games, I feel like I have a pretty good sense of what he can do. And it's less than what Cousins can do," Bickel asserted.
"I bought into the notion he was going to stretch the field like he did last year. We didn't get that version of Alex Smith."
