Bashaud Breeland will not be joining the Panthers after all. Failed physical (non-football injury). For those who had been asking questions about an official announcement the last couple days, now you know.
— Max Henson (@PanthersMax) March 16, 2018According to reports, while in the Dominican Republican last week, Breeland cut the back of his foot, an injury severe enough it will require a skin graft. Because of the surgery, Breeland won't be able to pass a physical for several more months. Whether or not he is able to recoup the deal he had in place with Carolina -- three years, $24 million -- is unknown.
Almost #Panthers CB Bashaud Breeland cut his foot in a non-football injury and it got infected, source said. He is now a few months away from being able to pass a physical. Brutal.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2018Cornerback Bashaud Breeland told me he cut the back of his left foot while in the Dominican Republic on March 4th. Said he will need to have skin grafted to repair the injury as he did when first injured in the fourth grade. He didn't believe the injury... https://t.co/OIwqz8cBx0
— David Newton (@DNewtonespn) March 16, 2018"Life will teach u (sh**) in ways u can't understand lol," Breeland wrote on Twitter Friday.
Former #Raiders WR Michael Crabtree visits the #Ravens today and given their positional need (from the Ryan Grant situation) and their interest in -- before that, Baltimore would like to close the deal. If it doesn’t happen, Crabtree has other visits lined up.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 16, 2018Failed physicals always curious to me, especially for a guy like Ryan Grant who has NEVER missed a game in his career. 64 straight."Hey we can get Crabtree now. Fail Grant on his physical so we can get out of that overpriced deal."I'm not saying ... I'm just sayin ...
