Trent Williams has made his wishes publicly known that he wants a divorce from the Redskins.

Dan Patrick reported on his radio show Wednesday afternoon that the Redskins may have found a suitor.

"I was just told that the Redskins will trade Trent Williams and get a No. 1 pick, and then use that pick on an offensive lineman," Patrick said. "And my source still believes that Chase Young is going to Washington."

If the Redskins are able to draft Williams' successor in addition to revamping the defense with the selection of Chase Young at the No. 2 overall pick, that will plug the biggest hole on the roster.

Williams missed all of the 2019 season when the team had offers on the table, but the Redskins opted not to move him. Williams, 31, is now another year older, as well as another year removed from playing pro football.

His trade value has decreased since his holdout began prior to the 2019 season and the Redskins, with a new regime in place, are waiting to receive satisfactory compensation in any potential trade.

That rumored compensation may now be on the table.

We will find out soon enough.
