Bryce Harper has already set several MLB records during his career, including but not necessarily limited to: youngest positon player selected to an All-Star Game, youngest player to be named MVP unanimously, and first player in league history to hit five Opening Day home runs before turning 25.
Harper could join another exclusive club if he wins the Home Run Derby Monday night at Nationals Park. He would become just the third player, since the introduction of the competition in 1985, to win the derby at his home ballpark.
A hometown derby hero would not emerge again until 2015, when the Cincinnati Reds' Todd Frazier took home the title at the Great American Ballpark. Frazier hit a total of 39 long balls on the night, edging Joc Pederson of the Los Angeles Dodgers 15-14 in the final round.
