The Washington Nationals hosted free agent starting pitcher Patrick Corbin Wednesday, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.
In 2018, Corbin posted a 3.15 ERA in 200 innings pitched while tallying 246 strikeouts. The 29-year-old left-hander is coming off his second all-star season with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
As part of his meet-and-greet tour with teams, Patrick Corbin met with the Washington Nationals.

November 28, 2018 Nationals GM Mike Rizzo was evasive when asked about the ballclub's pursuit of a starting pitcher like Corbin or Dallas Keuchel during an appearance on Grant & Danny Wednesday
"Well, you never have enough starting pitching," Rizzo said. "Starting pitching is the driver of, you know, winning teams. And, I think it's safe to say that we're certainly going to go down every avenue – free agency, trade-wise – to acquire starting pitching because you can never have enough of it."
Keuchel, who won the 2015 AL Cy Young with Houston, pitched to a 3.74 ERA in 204 2/3 innings in 2018.
However, the Nats are not among the favorites to sign Corbin, per MLB Network insider Jon Heyman.
Corbin is in for a visit. Phillies and Yankees are seen as favorites for PC but they are not alone in this chase. https://t.co/XhobG6Gkqb
