Having seen Bryce Harper grow from a teenage phenom into a 25-year old perennial All-Star and Home Run Derby champion, Nationals managing principal owner Mark D. Lerner considers Harper family.
"There are a lot of factors that go into it obviously, and we’ll decide with Mike (Rizzo) what our next steps are," Lerner said. "But we’d love to have Bryce, we’ve always said that all along, we’ve never changed our mind."
"He’s like our son, I mean, we’ve known him since he was 16 years old. So, we’ll see what happens, only I hope we’re able to keep him, if we can. We’ll understand it, but we’ll make a real effort to get him."
