No. 9 Maryland (23-7, 13-6) coasted to a crucial conference win over No. 25 Michigan (19-11, 10-9) to conclude regular-season play Sunday, defeating the Wolverines 83-70.

Anthony Cowan Jr. led Mark Turgeon's squad with 20 points (7-for-11 shooting) and eight assists.

Down double-digits late in the ballgame, the Wolverines couldn't put the ball in the basket. Juwan Howard's squad shot 4-15 in the final ten minutes of regulation, allowing the Terps to maintain control down the stretch.

With the contest all-but-over, Cowan checked out of the game for the final time at Xfinity Center with 26 ticks left on the clock and shared an emotional embrace with Turgeon.

Cowan was honored pregame prior to his 130th (school record) consecutive start for the Terps, after an illustrious four-year career in College Park.

Eric Ayala scored 19, Jalen Smith had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Aaron Wiggins added 15 points for the Terps.

The Terps clinch their first share of the Big Ten Championship since joining the conference back in 2014-15.

Turgeon's squad will be seeded either 2nd or 3rd, depending on the outcome of No. 16 Michigan State's (21-9, 13-6) matchup against No. 19 Ohio State.

Regardless of the outcome, Maryland will begin their play in the Big Ten Tournament on Friday after receiving a double-bye.
