Down one in overtime, Terps head coach Matt Canada wanted to end the game with his offense on the field.
Maryland, which racked up 535 yards of offense on the day, would go for the two-point conversion and the win. And why not? They had never trailed during regulation and the defense had allowed 688 yards of offense and allowed three 4th quarter leads evaporate.
But the Terps bid for a historic upset of No. 10 Ohio State fell short in overtime as Tyrrell Pigrome's pass on the two-point try fell incomplete. The Buckeyes escaped College Park with a 52- 51 win.

November 17, 2018 In the first half, Maryland running back Anthony McFarland ran for over 200 yards and two scores to build a 24-17 lead. McFarland would finish with 298 yards on 21 carries, the second highest single-game total in school history.
During the game, Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer became a very strange sub-plot. At first he looked simply upset at his team's play, but soon he began to look ill.
Following
a pick-six to open the 3rd quarter, Meyer went with the hand on head look.

November 17, 2018 With the score tied at 31 following a Buckeye touchdown pass, Maryland faced a 4th down in Buckeyes territory. Meyer's sideline posture did not improve after Canada called for a fake punt and the Terps got the first down with a 15-yard pass by Australian punter Wade Lees.

Urban’s gonna be super bummed when this is actually ruled a touchdown. #Terps
