— Brittany Ghiroli (@Britt_Ghiroli) May 8, 2019Parra began the 2019 season with the San Francisco Giants, but after batting just .198 through the first 30 games, he was designated for assignment on May 3. For his career, Parra is a .277 hitter and has won two Gold Gloves.
The Nats are desperate for reinforcements of any kind with four position players on the injured list. In the outfield, both Juan Soto and Andrew Stevenson are dealing with back injuries, but Soto is expected to return Saturday.
Soto is hitting in the cage today. Barring setbacks, Nationals expect him to return Saturday.
— Mark Zuckerman (@MarkZuckerman) May 8, 2019To clarify on Soto: Davey said he hopes he’s available Saturday. Not a definite.
