Adam Sandler photobombs wedding pictures in VCU Basketball shirt

Adam Sandler has come a long way since "The Wedding Singer," becoming the wedding photobomber for a couple's ceremony in Montreal last weekend.

The details of the encounter are wholesome and fuzzy, but we're more interested in his wardrobe.

If you look closely, he's wearing a Virginia Commonwealth University basketball T-shirt:

Sandler was born in Brooklyn, raised in New Hampshire and went to school at New York University. He has no ties to VCU, but he does have a cool story with the school's basketball program.

At the end of April, Sandler was on tour and hit Richmond with special guest Rob Schneider. WTVR in Richmond reports that Sandler's representatives scheduled time in the gym weeks in advance and played with some of the VCU players and coaches before his show at the Altria Theater.
The aftermath was a lovefest from anyone he met, praising the comedian for his friendliness and gratitude.

From the looks of that shirt, the feeling was mutual.

Sandler is reportedly in Montreal to film the Netflix comedy “Murder Mystery.”
