D.C. sports teams don't necessarily have a deep bench of celebrity fans, but they do have both iconic primetime gameshow hosts: Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek.

Last month, Sajak got his moment in the sun introducing the Washington Capitals to the ice during Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, and now Trebek has entered the sports fray with a bold(ish) prediction.

He thinks his Washington Redskins are poised to be good. Not great. Not Super Bowl-winning. But certainly better than they have been in a while.

He shared his thoughts during a recent appearance on ABC-7:

"I'm going to make a prediction now," he told the newscasters, "about my favorite football team, the Washington Redskins."

Looking dramatically into the camera and pumping his fist with each syllable, he said: "Redskins: this is your year. You're not going to win the Super Bowl, but you're going to get closer than you've been in a long, long time."

Finally, a super fan who has a reasonable take on an upcoming season.
