Welcome back, Bryce Harper! It took a while to take the field after an extended rain delay, but D.C. fans waited around to celebrate his return.
With a whole lot of boos.
After an awkward offseason of shopping the Nats' best offer, signing with one of the team's top rivals, and a
thank you to fans that took weeks to write, Bryce Harper walked to home plate in a stadium where he used to hear roars of applause.
Washington Nationals fans made clear that there is no love left for the former face of the franchise. Even as a tribute video of Harper's best D.C. moments played on the stadium's giant video board, fans either crossed their arms and said nothing, or booed for the prodigal son.
