Trea Turner has a non-displaced broken right index finger. No timetable for his return, but Davey Martinez was pretty sullen talking about the injury.

April 3, 2019 Matt Adams is day-to-day with back spasms. Meanwhile, Davey Martinez says they hope to have another player here by gametime tomorrow to take Turner’s roster spot. Would be a backup (like Sanchez). Difo will be the starting shortstop.

April 3, 2019 Trea Turner was one of the Washington Nationals' hottest players out of the gate in 2019. Now, he could be headed for the Injured List.
Lining up to bunt in his first at-bat, he tried to adjust to a pitch that broke in towards his hands. Sliding the bat back, he kept the pitch from hitting the handle, but appeared to take a direct shot to the index finger:

April 3, 2019 As he laid in the dirt, he was attended to by the team's medical staff and was overheard by MLB Network audio saying, "I can't move my finger."
That's bad news. If he's out for an extended period of time, he takes his MLB-leading stolen base count and team-leading hits with him. The Nats' offense, which has been anemic in the season's first week, can ill afford to lose him.
Depending on the results of the X-ray, Turner could be replaced in the lineup by top prospect Carter Kieboom, who is currently in the minor leagues at AAA Fresno.
To make matters worse, Matt Adams got the start tonight at first base in place of Ryan Zimmerman but left the game in the fourth inning with back spasms. He was likely injured after falling over the railing into the dugout while chasing a foul ball.
He stayed in the game briefly, but needed to be replaced in the field by Zimmerman in the fourth inning.
