Another year has come and gone as time's march onward continues unabated.
In the day's before the new year, the end of December gives us just enough time to look back and bask in the glow of the year that was.

There were plenty of doubters when D.C. United signed the 33-year old from English club Everton, but boy were they wrong.
Rooney almost
single-handedly revived United and carried them to the MLS playoffs with 12 goals and seven assists in his first season in the District. (However, United
came up short in the playoffs during their first year at Audi Field.)
If you think things are bad at Redskins Park now, imagine if Washington never signed Peterson after Derrius Guice tore his ACL. The 33-year old showed why he’s going to Canton some day, cracking
1,000 rushing yards for the first time since 2015. And it may not end, Peterson said he
would "love" to return in 2019.
The Robin to Ovechkin’s Batman. Kuznetsov gained superstar status with his performance in the 2018 NHL playoffs, leading all players with
32 points and 20 assists. And, oh yeah, he got that Stanley, too.
While he may not have won a third-straight NL Cy Young, Scherzer still put up
award-worthy numbers in 2018. The Nats ace won a league-leading 18 games, and became just the fifth pitcher since 2000 to record 300+ strikeouts in a single season.
