Zach Brown sees 'writing on the wall,' expects to leave 'Skins

Washington Redskins linebacker Zach Brown says he sees the "writing on the wall" when it comes to his future with the team.

“I think they’re going to stick with (what) they stick with. I’m just taking it how it is,” Brown said Wednesday, an apparent reference to his benching during the Redskins 40-16 defeat to the New York Giants. “I’m just sitting here just doing what I’m supposed to be doing 'til it’s time for me to leave.”
Brown, who has two years remaining on his contract, was asked what he meant by that statement by reporter JP Finlay.

"I mean, you see the writing on the wall," Brown said. "I mean, it is what it is."

It will cost the Redskins $3 million to release Foster after this season, but that would represent a savings of over $5 million. 

"I'm just here now, and, you know, gotta contribute to the team, try to help us get to the playoffs," Brown said. "And after the season, if I'm here or not, which, you know, I doubt it, it is what it is."

Brown said he came to this conclusion after his benching and his belief the team is going in a different direction. Earlier this year Brown tweeted and then deleted criticism of his coaches.

"It's been very frustrating. You get benched and (the coaches don't give) you a reason or anything for it," Brown said. "You just gotta keep doing (things), just got to keep practicing. You've just got to just stay ready. But at the same time it's frustrating. It's frustrating on anybody to get benched and you not know the reason."
