Bryce: Nats World Series would be '10 times better' than Caps Cup

The Capitals winning the franchise's first Stanley Cup was undoubtedly the biggest moment in recent D.C. sports history, an estimated 500,000 attending the victory parade around the National Mall.

But according to Bryce Harper, that's nothing compared to what a Nationals World Series triumph would do for the city.

"Nothing against the Caps at all, but I think if they – if we brought a title back to this town in D.C. it would be unbelievably huge and about 10 times better," Harper said in an interview with ESPN's Karl Ravech Tuesday. "Because I mean – I mean, winning the Stanley Cup is something that is insanely incredible. Everybody sees that when you watch a hockey playoff game." 

"And to be able to win that, it’s – sir Stanley is very, very impressive. But to bring back a title to D.C., I mean, it would be – it would be incredible."

Perhaps Harper is still sore that the Caps knocked off his Vegas Golden Knights, but right now it's hard to imagine anything topping the joy, elation, and fountain-diving exploits caused by the Stanley Cup victory. And I'm sure plenty of Caps fans – not to mention Alex Ovechkin – might have something to say about Harper's claim.
