When asked about a sign on a building across from Nats Park, which read, "8 More Years of 34," Harper balked, not at the idea of staying in Washington, but about the length of the sign's proposal.
"Yeah. A couple of years off," Harper said.
"I'll be stunned if he's back," Eric Bickel said on The Sports Junkies. "Stunned... (I'm) down to a two percent chance (that he's back). It is gonna be hard to compete when these other teams come in and they're gonna have big offers and Mike (Rizzo) is going to look at it and go, 'I just can't afford it. I mean I love ya, but I just can't afford it.'"
Harper was also evasive when asked if he had any unfinished business in Washington.
"I mean, we didn't win," Harper said. "We had a great couple of chances to be able win some games and every single goal... any given time is to win a World Series and we weren't able to do that. So, I guess we'll see."
