The Washington Redskins have not been good in primetime games.
And in Week 3 the Redskins have a chance to change that when the Chicago Bears come to FedEx Field on Monday Night Football.
For Skins fans looking for optimism, there is this: The Redskins are due for a home win on a Monday night.
Why? Because their record in on Monday Night Football has been terrible in recent years: 2-15 since 2008.
"That's a big sample size, that's not like one or two games. That's 17 games, that is a trend. It is not fluky," The Sports Junkies' John Auville said Thursday.
And in recent years it has been especially bad in primetime games at FedEx Field: 3-8 since 2013.
"Man that's atrocious," Jason Bishop said on The Junkies.
The Redskins last got a Monday night win on Oct. 27, 2014, when Colt McCoy led the Skins to an overtime win on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. (For those keeping score, that was the infamous Tony Wyllie "No means no" postgame interview game.) McCoy also started the last time the Redskins played on a Monday, in Dec. 2018, when he sustained a broken leg in a 28-13 loss to the Eagles.
Washington's last Monday night home win came in Week 13 of the 2012 season when rookie Robert Griffin III led the Skins to a 17-16 win over the New York Giants.
Monday, the Redskins will be looking to snap a drought of 2,485 days.
