The Washington Wizards and Capitals unveiled these fresh new t-shirts to help raise money for frontline workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Proceeds raised from these social distancing inspired shirts will deliver healthy, fresh meals to first responders, health care and essential workers at D.C.-area hospital and COVID-19 testing sites, courtesy of Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation's "Feeding the Frontlines" fund.
The Caps shirt replaces the traditional "Washington" with "Wash Your Hands," a helpful reminder to take every precaution to prevent the spread of this vicious disease. The Wizards shirt adds a second "sudsy hand" to the traditional DC logo.
A third Mystics-themed shirt available for purchase adopts the slogan "We'll Always Be Together," promoting unity and togetherness "during a time of quarantining and social distancing."
The "Feeding the Frontlines" fund has already funded more than 7,500 meals, raising more than $175,000 in total, while partnering with Wizards' chefs at FLIK, Capitals' chefs at SuperFd and DC Central Kitchen – Monumental's Social Impact program – in this altruistic endeavor.
