Derrius Guice to undergo ACL surgery Friday

Redskins running back Derrius Guice will undergo surgery for a torn ACL on Friday, 106.7 The Fan's Craig Hoffman has learned.

The surgery will be performed by famed orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

Source confirms to @1067theFan@JPFinlayNBCS's report that Derrius Guice will see Dr. Andrews on Friday for his ACL surgery.He's probably the world's most well known orthopedic surgeon. He's actually, like Guice, a Louisiana native.

The recovery period for a torn ACL is typically six to nine months. The Redskins expect Guice back in time for training camp in 2019.

Guice sustained the injury during the first quarter of Washington's preseason opener against New England last week.
