Derrius Guice, still not cleared for full contact, has yet to play a down for the Redskins in 2019, but that could change come Thursday.

The 22-year-old back missed his entire rookie season with a torn ACL and, as of last Thursday's preseason game against the Bengals, had not been cleared for game action by the medical staff.

"'We're still playing it day-by-day and waiting for the green light," Jay Gruden told reporters Monday, specifying that while Guice has yet to be cleared for full contact, "He should be okay here pretty soon."

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media later reported the "tentative plan" is for Guice to get into Thursday's game against the Falcons, which will likely be the only action he sees prior to the start of the regular season.

Note after a day at the #Redskins: The tentative plan is for RB Derrius Guice (knee surgeries) to get some work in the preseason game vs the #Falcons, I’m told. It’ll likely be his only action of the preseason but getting some contact before the regular season would be important.
