The Capital City Go-Go, the Wizards' new G League affiliate, held an open tryout on Saturday at the Saint Elizabeth's East Sports & Entertainment Arena, which will serve as the Go-Go's home arena and the Wizards and Mystics' new practice facility.

The Capital City Go-Go (Wizards' G-League team) have two tryout sessions today. I'm told that among those in the afternoon session are former Georgetown star Austin Freeman and Aquille 'The Crimestopper' Carr. Carr was a legend in Baltimore, as many local hoops fans may recall.
— Chase Hughes (@ChaseHughesNBCS) September 15, 2018Freeman averaged 13.7 points per game during his time at Georgetown, while the diminutive mixtape legend Carr notably decided to take his talents overseas in 2013 after committing to play for Seton Hall.
Both Go-Go head coach Jarell Christian and general manager Pops Mensah-Bonsu spoke about the benefits of the open tryout. Mensah-Bonsu brought up the example of Jonathon Simmons, who made the roster of the Spurs' D-League affiliate after an open tryout and is now a regular starter for the Orlando Magic.

— Capital City Go-Go (@CapitalCityGoGo) September 15, 2018It's a long shot that anyone from the tryout will make the Go-Go, let alone the Wizards, but the event certainly generated plenty of local interest.
