Cousins' two year extension is reportedly worth $66 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The news of the extension comes to the delight of Vikings fans, who will now have their signal-caller on the books through the 2022 season. Cousins' original three-year contract with Minnesota paid him $84 million guaranteed prior to the start of the 2018 NFL season.

The extension makes his total deal worth $96 million over the next three years.

Reports circulated Sunday that Cousins and the team were at an impasse in contract negotiations, giving fans in the nation's capital a feeling of deja vu.

The reports did not fare true, and Cousins will be a mainstay in Minnesota for much longer.
