The Loudoun South Little League team fell to the team from Wailuku, Hawaii, 12-9, Wednesday at the Little League World Series, suffering their first loss of the tournament.
The team from South Riding, Virginia fell behind 5-0 in the top of the first and was down 8-2 entering the bottom of the third inning before rallying back to tie the game at eight. However, they were unable to capitalize in the game's final three innings.

August 22, 2019 The Loudoun pitchers, who had been the backbone of the team early on in the tournament, combined to strike out six, but the quartet of Liam Thyen, Chase Obstgarten, Brady Yates, and Kian Henson allowed 13 hits and five walks.
But, their LLWS isn't over as they will face the team out of River Ridge, Louisiana Thursday night for another shot at Hawaii in the U.S. Championship game Saturday. The winner of the American title game will face the winner of the International title game in the LLWS Final Sunday in Williamsport.
