Having already
assumed full control of the investigations into the death of Jordan McNair and the "toxic" culture of the Terrapins football program, it appears the University of Maryland Board of Regents wants to take further action, according to former NBC Sports Washington sportscaster Chick Hernandez.

August 17, 2018 The school accepted "moral" and "legal" culpability for McNair's death at a press conference held by Loh and Evans last Tuesday. In addition, Maryland let go of strength and conditioning coach Rick Court, who allegedly helped create an "environment based on fear and intimidation" within the football team according to an ESPN report.
Another report by The Washington Post last week cited multiple sources who said Loh rejected a proposal last year to overhaul how the athletics department managed injuries and health care, which would have better aligned Maryland with NCAA recommendations.
Durkin, who is already on administrative leave, took over as the head football coach in 2016. Loh is the longest-tenured of the three, having become president of the university in 2010, while Evans only became the permanent athletic director this June after a stint as interim AD.
In fact, Hernandez also reported the board wants to bring in a familiar face to take Evans's place.
University sources told me the board plans to reach out to Hall of Famer, former Maryland basketball coach Gary Williams to be the school’s interim AD. Williams has not been contacted as of this report. #terps #nojob #stillbeating

August 19, 2018 Williams, who is currently serving as Maryland's senior managing director for alumni relations and athletic development, coached the Terrapins basketball team for over 20 years, guiding Maryland to a national title in 2002.
