All signs indicate the Bryce Harper sweepstakes are now a three-horse race between the Dodgers, Giants and Phillies.
The Giants, according to Kerry Crowley of The Mercury News, met with Harper and agent Scott Boras Tuesday in Las Vegas.
"Giants CEO Larry Baer and president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi were in Las Vegas, Harper’s hometown, to meet with the coveted free agent and agent Scott Boras for a second time in a matter of weeks," Crowley writes.
"The Giants met with Harper and Boras for the first time at the beginning of February and are one of a handful of teams left pursuing the six-time All-Star. San Francisco has reportedly extended Harper at least one contract offer, but the terms of the offer remain unclear."
Source confirms that the Giants indeed met with Bryce Harper and Scott Boras in Las Vegas on Tuesday. @KO_Crowley was first to report the meeting, which is the second between the two parties.
— Mark Feinsand (@Feinsand) February 27, 2019This report of a second meeting between the Giants and Harper comes on the heels of a tweet from Smash Mouth (yes, the band Smas Mouth) regarding an internal conflict among San Francisco executives about the length of a potential offer to Harper.
We are hearing Giants ownership/upper mgmt might not be on the same page as Zaidi regarding Harper. They want to offer a long term contract like they did with Bonds and Zaidi does NOT want to. Sabean/Baer step the F up, this is your team, not some slappy's from the Dodgers! @KNBR
— Smash Mouth (@smashmouth) February 26, 2019Representatives from the Dodgers, including manager Dave Roberts, met with Harper on Sunday, while Phillies owner John Middleton also met with the All-Star outfielder last weekend.
Per OddsShark, the Dodgers are now the favorites to sign Harper.

— OddsShark (@OddsShark) February 26, 2019A source indicates that the #Phillies believe their chances of landing Bryce Harper are remote. The obvious question is whether they would pivot to Keuchel and/or Kimbrel. My sense from our interview with Matt Klentak is that they won’t play on Keuchel and only maybe on Kimbrel.
