Friday night will see the Nats start Aníbal Sánchez vs. the Cardinals' Miles Mikolas, with the Game 2 matchup of Max Scherzer vs. Adam Wainwright. The NL Central champions are projected to start Jack Flaherty and Dakota Hudson in the following games.

Paternity List: Daniel Hudson
Daniel Hudson's absence is the big surprise here. Away on paternity leave, Hudson can be away from the club between 1-3 days and can be added to the roster when he's ready.

Daniel Hudson is on paternity leave, not here for Game 1. Hunter Strickland is off the roster. Javy Guerra and Roenis Elias have been added to the bullpen.

Daniel Hudson was placed on the Postseason Paternity List. In his absence, Wander Suero will be an active member of the Nats' NLCS roster. Hudson will be allowed to be away from the Club for a minimum of one day and a maximum of three days, then take Suero’s place on the roster.

Hudson will likely rejoin the Nats in St. Louis for Game 2 on Saturday.

Everything went great with the birth of Daniel Hudson’s third child, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Victor Robles has missed the past three postseason games with a hamstring injury but is on the Nats' NLCS roster. GM Mike Rizzo says Robles will be available as a pinch-hitter in Game 1.
