Otto Porter underwent surgery on his lower left leg, a procedure which, Candace Buckner reports, will keep Porter out of the remainder of the Wizards' playoff series against Toronto.
The procedure, a left lower leg fasciotomy, was performed to address compartment syndrome, a "critical increase in pressure resulting from an injury," the Wizards explained in a release. It was necessary to prevent permanent damage to the muscles in Porter's leg.
The Wizards, trailing 3-2 in the best-of-seven series, host the Raptors for Game 6 at Capital One Arena on Friday.
Buckner also reports backup forward Kelly Oubre will likely start in Porter's place. Porter would also miss a potential Game 7.
