The Redskins have fired defensive backs coach Torrian Gray, a source confirmed to Craig Hoffman of 106.7 The Fan.
The news was first reported by NFL Media's Mike Garafolo, who also says the Redskins met with former Jets head coach Todd Bowles, who's previously served as a defensive coordinator in the NFL.
Former #Jets coach Todd Bowles met with the #Redskins earlier this week, sources say. No specific role was discussed, I’m told. It was more about touching base and seeing where things stood for both sides. As @RapSheet has noted, Bowles is in play in Tampa for Arians’ DC.

January 8, 2019 Gray's firing is "part of a much bigger house cleaning on that side of the ball," Hoffman reports, hinting there's another shoe to drop.
As @MikeGarafolo said earlier, Torrian Gray is out with the #Redskins. As he hinted, it’s part of a much bigger house cleaning on that side of the ball.Final names aren’t known yet, but a source indicates the changes will be basically whole-sale.

January 8, 2019 Mike Klis of 9News reported Tuesday afternoon Washington was interested in hiring Broncos defensive coordinator Joe Woods as its new DBs coach, leading to speculation Gray had been let go.
This would mean that the #Redskins are potentially losing/ replacing or promoting Torrian Gray? https://t.co/L1QZ43wi2k

January 8, 2019 Garafolo then tweeted he'd heard Gray was fired Tuesday morning.
I believe he's already been let go

January 8, 2019 Yeah, I’d just heard that this morning

January 8, 2019 No specific role was discussed during the meeting with Bowles, but some have listed him as a possible replacement for defensive coordinator Greg Manusky. Bowles is also linked with the defensive coordinator position in Tampa Bay.
Former #Jets coach Todd Bowles is the top choice to join Bruce Arians in Tampa. Would make for quite a staff. https://t.co/ExK5rPhtGA

January 8, 2019 Gray served as the Redskins DBs coach for two seasons. In those two years, Washington ranked as the NFL's ninth and 15th best pass defense, respectivly, in terms of yards allowed.
