WATCH: Redskins honor London Fletcher, but misspell his name
The Washington Redskins added another name to the Ring of Fame on Monday: Linebacker London Fletcher.
Fletcher, who played 112 games over seven years after joining as a free agent before the 2007 season, made four Pro Bowls with the organization and was honored by the team during halftime of Monday night's 31-15 defeat.
"When I think about this storied franchise," Fletcher said. "You know for me to be the 50th member of the Ring of Fame. That's special. There's been a lot of great football players for this organization, and I always try to represent the burgundy and gold on and off the field in a matter that would be pleasing to the players that played prior to me and those who are coming up after me."
He had 12 interceptions, nine forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, scored three touchdowns, and yet... the Redskins didn't quite spell his name right.
What a classy organization. @Redskins can’t even spell their new ring of honor member, London Fletcher’s name right. What a joke starting from the top, Dan Snyder #Redskins #HTTR pic.twitter.com/37yLwfKtFX
