Jamison Crowder is expected to miss a few weeks with a sprained ankle, Craig Hoffman of 106.7 The Fan confirms.

Confirmed with an NFL source that Crowder is out a few weeks and that there is no structural damage.Sounds like it is a severe sprain, but no breaks or anything like that. @RapSheet was first on that.

The news was first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

With #Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (sprained ankle) out a few weeks, the team promoted practice squad WR Jehu Chesson to their active roster. Crowder’s MRI did provide some good news, as it’s not an extended absence.

The Redskins on Thursday signed wide receiver Jehu Chesson to the active roster, his second promotion from the practice squad this season.

Chesson was awesome on special teams, but not sure that's gonna be enough to get him active on Sunday. Might depend on Richardson.Floyd and Quick had a ton of snaps last week on offense and they might need them again.

The Good

Adrian Peterson (ankle/shoulder) was limited in practice Thursday, but says he's feeling a "night and day" difference from last week.

Shawn Lauvao (calf) was limited Thursday and needs to practice Friday to be a go for Sunday's game. But Jay Gruden remains optimistic that will happen.

Jay Gruden said he’s optimistic that Shawn Lauvao (calf) will play Sunday. But Gruden said key day is Friday. Lauvao has been limited so If he can’t practice he won’t play. He would start at LG if ready.

The Bad

Chris Thompson (rib/knee) was very limited and didn't seem to be going full speed in drills, according to Hoffman. Friday is the big test for him. If he practices, he'll be a go for Sunday against the Cowboys. If he remains limited, bad news.

Paul Richardson (shoulder/knee) also did not practice Thursday.

Richardson is battling but his knee is a problem. They’re monitoring it and hopefully it continues to heal this week but it gets worse when he plays obviously.

And The Ugly

Crowder was seen moving around Redskins Park on a scooter and can be ruled out for Sunday's game. Worse, he could miss more than one game.

Jamison Crowder just went past the locker room on a scooter (as in one leg up and elevated behind him type scooter).Hopefully that is overly precautionary, but that’s his current status.
