The Washington Redskins on Tuesday released veteran defensive back Orlando Scandrick
The 31-year-old
signed with Washington in March after being released by Dallas, with whom he spent his first nine NFL seasons.
Wow. I know they like Greg Stroman & Danny Johnson but this is kind of aggressive. And risky. https://t.co/Wyz5gCMsmV

August 14, 2018 Jay Gruden confirmed the move minutes later at the podium, saying it had more to do with feeling confidence in their younger defensive backs – especially second-year corner Fabian Moreau – than with Scandrick's play.
Jay says this had nothing to do with Scandrick’s play. They want to give him ample time to find a new team, but this has to do with the guys they drafted (Stroman, Alexander) and the emergence of UDFA Danny Johnson.

August 14, 2018 The move could mean the Redskins have enough faith in Quinton Dunbar as a starting corner opposite Josh Norman. Former Redskins DB Will Blackmon publicly supports this assessment.
Don’t be.

August 14, 2018 I watched Dunbar for 3 years. Trust me.

August 14, 2018 According to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington, Washington has reached out to 32-year-old free agent Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Doesn’t mean he’s coming. But there is interest. Also means this Scandrick move didn’t happen overnight
