The Redskins made a string of roster moves centered around the wide receiver position Tuesday.

As first reported by Craig Hoffman of 106.7 The Fan, rookie receiver Cam Sims was placed on injured reserve after suffering a high-ankle sprain on the opening kickoff of Sunday's game. Sims is planning to undergo surgery, Hoffman reports, making him an unlikely return candidate this season.

The Redskins have a slew of injuries in the receiving corps. Fellow rookie Trey Quinn also sustained a high-ankle sprain on Sunday, and Maurice Harris missed Week 1 altogether with a concussion.

With only three healthy receivers on the roster – Josh Doctson, Paul Richardson and Jamison Crowder – the Redskins re-signed veteran Brian Quick on Tuesday. Quick played in 11 games for the Redskins in 2017 and, as a recent cutdown day casualty, is familiar and easy to slide into the Redskins offense.

While no update is available on Quinn, the Redskins waived linebacker Josh Keyes, whom they signed last week, and replaced him on the roster with another defensive back rather than adding another receiver. The Redskins signed Kenny Ladler from their practice squad to their active roster. That doesn't necessarily mean Quinn is safe from IR, but the Redskins did announce these as corresponding moves.

As far as Quinn goes, we still don't know. They don't have anyone in house and Quick was the obvious outside choice. Darvin Kidsey is the "best" in house option and he's not ready yet. If Quinn needs to go to IR, they could bring in another WR or just stick w/ 5.

The Redskins also signed wide receiver Teo Redding to the practice squad. Redding – 6-foot-1, 181 pounds – is a 2018 undrafted free agent who spent the preseason with Detroit.
