Former Washington Redskins wide receiver Terrelle Pryor was arrested Saturday and charged with assault after he was stabbed during an altercation in his apartment, according to multiple media reports.

Pittsburgh police said a male stabbing victim walked into UPMC Mercy Hospital shortly after 4:30 a.m. Saturday following a dispute between “mutual combatants” in an apartment, per The Associated Press.
Police have arrested Shalaya Briston, 24, and charged her with attempted homicide and aggravated assault. Pryor, 30, who was in critical condition early Saturday, has been charged with simple assault, USA Today reported. Officers believed the man had been stabbed in the upper right chest, per USA Today.

Man this sucks. TP obviously didn't work out as a player in Washington, but I always enjoyed talking to him and felt like he was a genuinely good dude. Hope he has a quick, easy and full recovery. https://t.co/gu8xwegnYi

A close family friend of Terrelle Pryor told me the family does expect Pryor to survive the stabbing, and that several family members are by his side post-surgery as doctors monitor his progress. We will be following the story this AM on @SportsCenter
