The Redskins will turn to 36-year-old offensive tackle Donald Penn to fill the void left by Trent Williams, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.
Penn is en route to Washington now and will sign a one-year deal with the Redskins on Wednesday, per Rapoport.

July 30, 2019 Craig Hoffman has confirmed Penn is en route to Redskins training camp with the intent to sign a contract.
For clarity - Penn hasn’t signed yet. He’s on the way and on track to sign, but it’s not an official done deal as of yet.

July 30, 2019 With Williams holding out, he has officially been placed on the reserve/did not report list, leaving the Redskins in dire need of a starting left tackle. The Redskins also signed offensive lineman Corey Robinson on Saturday. Robinson, a seventh-round pick by the Lions in 2015, has started nine of his 27 games played in the NFL.
The Redskins signed tackle Ereck Flowers this offseason, but with the intention of moving him inside to guard. That plan changed when Williams did not report, but Flowers, a former first-round pick, has not panned out at the tackle position, to put it lightly.

July 30, 2019 Penn, a 12-year starter in the league, most recently played with the Oakland Raiders and brings experience that's hard to find this late in the offseason. The only question will be his age and how much he has left in the tank.
