The Washington Redskins are stuck between a rock and a hard place entering Week 8.
Facing former quarterback Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings, the Redskins are facing a pair of dilemmas: A short week of preparation playing on Thursday Night Football and a mounting injury list.
Wednesday, with the eyes of the DMV upon the
Washington Nationals in the World Series, the Redskins announced running back Chris Thompson (toe), tight end Vernon Davis (concussion), safety Deshazor Everett (ankle), linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons (hamstring), and guard Wes Martin (chest) would all miss Washington's Week 8 game.
And to make matters worse, running back Adrian Peterson, making a homecoming of his own, is questionable due to an ankle injury. The veteran running back did manage to participate in a limited basis on Wednesday.
There are bigger issues in the secondary as both safety Montae Nicholson (ankle) and cornerback Josh Norman (thigh/hand) are listed as questionable after not participating at all during the short week.
Wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. was a surprise addition to the injury report Wednesday and is listed as questionable with a "great toe" injury.

October 23, 2019 For the Vikings, wide receiver Adam Thielen was declared out due to a hamstring issue and defensive tackle Jalyn Holmes was listed as questionable due to an illness.
