As the Redskins cleaned out their lockers Monday, middle linebacker Zach Brown dropped some injury news: he played with a torn oblique for a large chunk of the 2018 season.

Brown had 96 tackles this season after leading the Redskins with 127 in 2017, and described 2018 as one of his "worst seasons."

"I was injured most of the season, playing with a torn oblique," Brown went on to tell reporters. "I should've just sat out and healed up for three weeks."

After getting benched during Washington's 40-16 loss to the Giants, Brown told reporters: "I'm just sitting here just doing what I’m supposed to be doing 'til it's time for me to leave ... you see the writing on the wall."
The 29-year old is under contract through the 2020 season, but the Redskins could release him during the offseason for a cost of $3 million.

Zach Brown revealed he played the first 10 weeks of the season he played with a torn oblique. He said it tore completely off his 11th rib.Which sounds horrifically painful.
