The Redskins did not get the good news they were hoping for with injured linebacker Reuben Foster, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear Monday, a source tells 106.7 The Fan's Craig Hoffman.
Source confirms the reports that #Redskins LB Rueben Foster has a torn ACL. Source says he will miss the entire 2019 season. @1067theFan

JP Finlay reported earlier Monday evening that, along with an ACL tear, Foster may have also suffered artery damage in his injured left leg.
Been told Reuben Foster has torn ACL as @RapSheet reported. Also some worries about possible artery damage in his leg, according to a source.Serious injury.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) May 20, 2019Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is describing the injury as "major" and "significant," seemingly corroborating Finlay's report by noting "additional damage."
Sources: #Redskins LB Reuben Foster is believed to have suffered a torn ACL, plus additional damage. The injury has been described as major and significant. He’s seeing specialists to determine the full extent. But a brutal situation for Washington.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 20, 2019Foster suffered the injury after stepping on offensive lineman Tyler Catalina's foot, causing Foster to land "funny on his left leg," Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Monday. Foster had to be carted off the field and was taken to get an MRI.
Gruden didn't have much information to offer other than his hope for good news on Foster as they awaited the MRI results.
When a reporter noted a player being carted off the field doesn't typically yield good news, Gruden said, "Yeah, especially Reuben's... the type of player that he is, the energy that he brings, he wouldn't be laying down unless something was wrong."
"But we'll hope for the best right now until we get the results," he added. "But very concerning for sure. Yeah. So I'll just have to wait and see before I get too emotional about it."
Horrible news on the first day of OTAs.
Can confirm Reuben Foster has torn ACL, first reported by @RapSheet. Crazy. First series of first drill.
